NCI-H460 Transfection Reagent (Lung Carcinoma, HTB177)

In 1982 the NCI-H460 cell line was discovered using the cells of a male patient with large cell lung carcinoma. These cells exhibit epithelial cellular morphology, are tumorigenic and express p53 mRNA similar to normal lung cells. This tumorigenic cell line is particularly unique in that it expresses no different structural DNA abnormalities, and its modal chromosome number of 57 makes it ideal for lung cancer research. The NCI-H460 cell line is typically used in molecular and biomedical lung cancer research.     NCI-H460 Cell Line

    NCI-H460 is a tumorigenic cell line that was established in 1982 from the lung tissue pleural fluid of a male patient with large cell lung carcinoma. NCI-H460 cells exhibit an epithelial morphology and adherent cultural properties. The NCI-H460 cell line is also hypotriploid and has a modal chromosome number of 57. NCI-H460 cells express p53 mRNA at levels similar to those of normal lung tissue and stain positively for kertain and vimentin. NCI-H460 is a suitable transfection host and an  NCI-H460 transfection kit can be purchased from Altogen Biosystems to conduct lung cancer research.
